Istanbul Teknik Exhibition Stand

Istanbul teknik company's exhibition stand on the day of the event

Description

Istanbul Teknik is one of the leading construction and building supplies companies in Turkey. Over the years we have produced a number of exhibition stands for them and we have always pushed our design skills for newer and contemporary concepts to mainly chase our belief that there are no limits to a better design each time. In this exhibition stand, our main objective was to move away from the standard one-cornered, rectangular shape which would be the case for most exhibition stands that have a slim and limited area to use. For that reason, we put ourselves in the shoes of the visitors and started brainstorming ideas on how we could use the space without being too traditional and rather more moving and futuristic. We began playing with curved and circular forms to create an interesting but aesthetic depth to utilise the most out of the given small exhibition stand space. We designed a large wall with separate graphics that curved in and out in opposite directions like a theatre set decor to create an effective three-dimensional space.

Challenge

Main challenge was creating a design that utilises the given thin space without being too traditional as in having rectangular walls and a corner with small storage.

Solution

Whilst designing. we played with interesting three dimensional forms and shapes. Gradually came up with a form that's bent to have curvature following a line of movement and rhythm.

Results

We also placed lights in key sections underneath the curved structures to enhance the three-dimensional spacing that we were looking for in the exhibition stand. We designed the opposite directional curves to create a continuous line of movement and rhythmic aesthetic which was enhanced by different shades of blues that went darker in the corner as the pieces got smaller. Used a large boxed acrylic 3D logo with LED lighting. On top of the raised floor, we designed another platform in a curved shape that complements the ongoing movement on the walls. This is the platform where we placed high bar stools and tables, a more designated area for the visitors to sit and talk with the exhibition stand officials. In between the raised floor of the platform we placed a rectangular strip that goes all the way around made of strip LED with a piece of diffused soft acrylic on top.
