About
Lufian is a French clothing brand known for their high-quality leather jackets. Lufian had a quite large space for its expo stand and they had an important point in their brief and that was simplicity. They insisted on maintaining a modern, monochrome image. Coming from this brief and considering the amount of space we had, we knew we wanted to focus on using simple shapes and a non-distracting layout for the purpose of brand awareness and better focus on the products. We wanted to give enough room for many people to be able to move around as if it were in an art gallery, which was the main reason why we did not put any extra structures in the middle as it wasn’t necessary. We designed an island storage in the middle with a high U-shaped counter with complementary bar stools. This island design on its own allowed a large amount of space so that the rest of the walls are fully seamlessly continuous with their clothing products. Our decision for the dominant colour in the exhibition stand became a light grey tone that is included in their corporate colours.
Challenge
Design an exhibition stand close to an art gallery to benefit from the given large space and display clothing products.
Solution
We placed an island storge in the middle of the exhibition stand with a U-shaped counter in front connected to it. That way we achieved seamless walls covering the whole stand .
Results
Choosing a lighter grey helped increase the contrast between the columns and products that were being exhibited. We decided to place three large open gates to ease access to the exhibition stand as it didn’t need to have a corner, which made it more flexible. Between these gates, there were small pillars every 3 metres. We constructed all the walls and columns from thick 18mm MDF for maximum durability and installed embossed pattern wallpapers. And in between the walls, we added lightboxes showcasing their models displaying their new range of clothing. Because the lightboxes are very powerful and we didn’t add any roofing to the stand, We didn’t need any extra lighting as the venue illuminated the whole stand just fine.
